Grace...To Those Who Haven't Heard

As I sat in a Missions service, I listened as my heart was broken and set ablaze to help so many lost people groups. I heard from a family serving students in schools in Haiti that have been labeled terrorists as children and about missionaries in India reaching and rescuing young girls and women from sex slavery. As I listened and felt so thankful for these missionaries, my mind was continually thinking about the Pregnancy Center Missionaries.
Maybe our local communities don't view Pregnancy Center servants as the typical missionaries to a lost nation but that is just who they are. The population served by Pregnancy Centers is one of the largest lost and hurting people groups. Many clients that enter the doors of a Pregnancy Center have never entered the church or have been hurt by the views of a former church. Whatever the reason may be that these women and men are not members of a local church, Pregnancy Center missionaries sometimes have one opportunity to reach into a broken heart and offer healing that begins a journey to restoration in Christ. It's not only a baby's life that is saved, but a client's life is saved and transformed as well.
The role of Pregnancy Center servants is truly that of a great missionary, selfless and seeking to bring light into the darkness of hopelessness. Pregnancy centers are providing the illumination of truth where deception has been so subtly penetrating through words such as "blob of tissue" where a life is at stake. The statement, "Abortion is a quick fix" is truly misleading and women that have suffered from the devastating effects of abortion know this to be true and gladly share with society the deception of these words. Many times it is the pain of an abortion in the past that has erected a wall around the heart of an individual that wonders, "Does God still love me?" The journey or restoration begins with knowing the gift of Grace that was bestowed upon all that will receive, no matter their background, sins and mistakes, hurts and pains, race or financial status. Grace, the person of Jesus, came to restore all.
Grace, to those who haven't heard, is a pathway to a new beginning with the One, Jesus, who loves all. Sometimes this grace is shared not within the walls of a church but through the voice and love of one individual to another. To the Pregnancy Center Missionaries around the nation, I salute you and commend you for your work to a sometimes lost and hurting people group. Continue against all odds and obstacles to fight the good fight and build the bridges to hope that the hopeless can cross over into healing and joy eternal.
